Looking into testing a stool sample will allow a practionier to see what is residing in your gut. Good the bad and even the ugly can set up shop and cause problems in the gut. This might lead to conditions that create chronic illness that have been experienced for years.
Some Conditions that can be helped by taking this test:
This test is looking for pathogens that reside in the body and produce toxins that create symptoms. Pathogens that are bacterial, viral, and parasitic in nature. DNA from the pathogens are collected and results are sent to the clinician.
Why take this test and how does it help?
The GI-MAP was designed to detect “Bugs” that may be disturbing the normal microbial flora/balance. The imbalance of good and bad bacterial flora, parasites, pathogens, and viral pathogens. This can be too little of the good stuff and/or too much of the bad stuff.
Once testing is accomplished and the imbalanced identified, the bad stuff needs to be killed and excreted and the good stuff needs to repopulated.
What do these pathogens and “BUGS” produce/cause?
They are contributing to illness as well as indicators of maldigestion, or gut pain when eating/digesting foods, poor absorption, increased inflammation, and immune dysfunction.
Dysbiosis is created when there is unfriendly flora, of any kind. There is a decrease in intestinal absorption, increase in gut permeability which leads into food intolerances, brain fog, fatigue, etc.
